Free Housing

Thank you for your interest in free housing. If you are planning to travel from Southern California, Bay Area, and Central Valley, please view the complete travel packages at: http://www.amsaarcucd.org/register/.

As a way to assist attendees flying in and traveling far distances, we provide free housing to offset your cost. The housing option is available ONLY to REGISTERED attendees. You MUST register for the conference prior to applying for free housing and provide us with the ticket/order number that is printed on your conference ticket, which will be emailed to you after you register.

How do I get to the Hotel?

We request that you meet us on Saturday October 8, 2011 at 7:30pm in front of the UC Davis Pavilion, next to the conference registration booths, with your printed free housing ticket. From there, buses will take you to a Motel 6 in Davis where you will be sharing a room with 3 other people. It will be up to you to choose the people that you stay with, and you can discuss that among yourselves. We just need 4 people to a hotel room; any combination that you choose is up to you. If you cannot find a roommate, we will pick one for you.

What to Bring

• A Sleeping Bag/sleeping pad
• Toiletries
• Clothes for both days
• Anything else that is necessary for you to sleep

Policies

• By agreeing to overnight with AMSA ARC/UCD, students also agree to not break university alcohol or drug policies. You cannot be intoxicated or under the influence of alcohol (even if over 21).
• You must be 18 years of age or older by October 7, 2011.
• In addition, students are not permitted to have any weapons (pocket knifes, or other) with them during the stay. If you do not adhere to this policy, you will be removed from the property with assistance from the UC Davis Police Dept.
• We will provide a bus that will take you to downtown Davis at 8:30 pm to the hotel and will return at 11pm sharply. If you miss the bus, you will be left behind.
• On Sunday October 9, 2011 morning, the bus will leave at 7:30am to take you  to UC Davis. If you miss the bus, you will be left at the hotel and on your own to find your way to the conference.
• If you have a car, you are free to drive yourself to the hotel, HOWEVER, you need to meet us at the Pavilion at 7:30pm on Saturday, meet the group, select your roommates, and also you need to be at the hotel by 7:50 pm to check in.

• You CANNOT check-in at the hotel at any other time that is posted above. The hotel will not release any rooms to you, even if you show them the registration ticket.
• If you miss that time slot, we cannot accommodate you.
• Lastly, we ask that you do not bring additional friends or family. Every person that is taking advantage of FREE housing must have a ticket with them at all times.

As a student organization, we want to support our peers and make the conference affordable for you, and we ask that you follow the rules.

Other Important Things to Think About

• You will not be as comfortable as you sleep each night in your own bed or having your own hotel room.
• You may be required to sleep on the floor in your sleeping bag.
• You may be sharing a room with others that you will not know.
• We request that you be flexible and respectful of others.
• Please respect your roommates’ private property and personal space at all times.
