Travel

These resources are especially useful for out-of-towners not quite familiar with the Davis/Sacramento area. If, after reading through the material, you would like to receive further assistance concerning directions to the UC Davis campus, let us know.

Directions to the UC Davis Pavilion

From I-80 (Eastbound and Westbound):

  1. Follow signs for 113N towards Woodland
  2. Take Hutchinson Exit, keep right towards UC Davis
  3. Turn left at La Rue Rd
  4. Turn right into ARC/ Pavilion parking lot
  5. IF LOT IS FULL
  6. Turn left from Pavilion lot down La Rue, heading south
  7. Turn left on Hutchinson Rd
  8. Turn left into Parking Structure at Dairy Rd.

NOTE TO ATTENDEES: There is a $7 daily parking fee.

Airport

Airport Code is SMF, “Sacramento International Airport.” Visit the airport’s website: www.sacairports.org/int.

If you are flying to the conference, we recommend that you take a shuttle to one of the hotels near campus and walk to the conference. Davis is a small college town with limited parking areas but everything is within walking distance.

Bus and Train

Please refer to the Amtrak and the Yolo County Bus websites for fares and schedules of trains and buses, respectively.

Shuttle

You can reserve seats on an airport shuttle by visiting the website. Please note the airport code is “SMF.”

Rental Car

If you choose to rent a car while in Sacramento, we have prepared a great deal for you with National Car Rental. Follow the instructions below to rent your vehicle through AMSA ARC/UCD and save a bundle.

  1. Go to the National Car Rental home page
  2. For Pickup Location enter “Sacramento/Airport”
  3. Select the date of pickup, i.e. October 8, 2011
  4. Select the time for pickup
  5. Select the date/time drop-off
  6. Enter the Contract ID under Optional Rate Information (Contract ID# 5006899)
  7. Click the GO! tab and follow the directions on the screen, and go on to vehicle selection, etc.

Parking

UC Davis Transportation and Parking Services (TAPS) charges $6 parking fee each day of the conference. To avoid parking fees, we recommend that you park at your hotel and walk over. There are also some open parking lots around Davis and the campus that do not collect fees on weekends (more information is on DavisWiki).
