Thank you for your interest in volunteering, but we have had an overwhelming response, and all spots are filled. Thank you again, and we hope you can join us this year as attendees and volunteer next year.
AMSA ARC/UCD Board |
Dear Colleagues,
Thank you for your interest in volunteering at the 9th AMSA ARC/UCD Pre-Medical & Pre-Public Health National Conference: “Mapping Your Path to Medicine.” This event would not happen without your help and support.
The conference has expanded to cover the Pavilion, Main Quad, Wellman, Olson, Social Science, and Young buildings as the projected number of attendees doubled from that of last year to 5,000. We have great speakers and guests lined up who will need your help to get from one point of campus to another, and also attendees who will be looking for your help to get around campus. We can tell you as coordinators that we have enjoyed the interaction with many of the speakers, and we are excited about hosting the largest pre-med conference in the country.
As a conference volunteer, you will be responsible for the following:
We will have a quick, 1-hour intro and task coordination on Friday October 7, 2011 at 9pm-10:20pm in Wellman (exact Location TBA). We will go over the tasks and assignments. Our goal is to have your support and assistance for a successful conference, and we hope to provide you enough time to interact with guests and attend conference events.
NOTE: You don’t have to be present at the conference to take part in the raffle. You will be entered automatically once you sign in and–upon completion–sign out of your volunteer shift.
Please pick one four-hour block to commit for the conference. Keep in mind that you must remain on site the entire allocated time. Failure to attend orientation is an automatic volunteer withdrawal and its benefits.
(Requires you bring your laptop and charger, USB drive AND attend mandatory orientation Friday October 7, 2011)
This is a special opportunity for you to interact directly with speakers, many of whom are deans from some of the top medical schools in the country. We need you to sit in on an assigned workshop (4.5 hours). We will teach you how to use the presentation equipment and what to do.
Workshop Room Coordinator shifts:
NOTE: A mandatory orientation will take place on Friday October 7, 2011 at 9pm-10:20pm
Regular Volunteer shifts:
NOTE: You can volunteer even if you’ve already registered for the conference. However, you will not receive a reimbursement or transfer for your ticket fee.
Deadline to register to volunteer is Wednesday, October 5, 2011 at 11:59pm.
This opportunity is available on a first-come, first-serve basis.
