What does the electronic application entail? This workshop explains the application process, the format of the application, and what information should be included in the application.

AMCAS Application
Presented By: Ms. Mandy McMannamon, Communications and Program Support Specialist, AMCAS. This workshop will cover the primary application process to allopathic schools using the online American Medical Colleges Application Service (AMCAS). You will learn about the AMCAS GPA, what to do with your official transcripts, how to enter your extracurricular activities and grades, and other important information.

Choosing an International Field Health Experience

Planning vs. Preparing for Medical School
Presented By: Dr. Ron Berezniak, Assistant Dean for Academic Affairs, Director of Clinical Education, Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine. The workshop “Planning vs Preparing for Medical School” is designed to inform premed students how to create systematized preparatory skills for medical school. Spanish Immersion and International Medical Programs
Presented By: Mr. Arturo Barriga, director of Promotions and Recruitment; Ms. Estefania Arguelles, Enrollment Counselor, UAG. Can you speak Spanish? Do you want to contribute back to the community while having excellent education in medicine? The Bilingual and Bicultural Medical Program at UAG is a great way to accomplish this. The International Medicine Program at UAG is also great because it gives students opportunities to learn about medicine in beautiful Guadalajara, Mexico. Along with these programs, there is the Medical Spanish Program, which educates bilingual Spanish speaking students to medicine while learning about the culture and language. This program has produced more than 14,000 bilingual/bicultural doctors that have helped many patients through excellent communication skills.

Stanford Summer Health Careers Opportunity Program
Presented By: Ms. Marcella Anthony, Community Outreach Manager, Center of Excellence in Diversity in Medical Education at Stanford School of Medicine. The Stanford Summer Health Careers Opportunity Program (HCOP) is an intensive, six-week residential experience for undergraduate sophomores and juniors who intend to pursue a career in medicine. This unique living and learning community was established to facilitate entry of students facing economic or academic barriers along the premedical path. Participants from the 2011 summer program will be present to share their experiences and to offer advice for prospective applicants.

Spanish Immersion and International Medical
Presented By: Ms. Estefania Arguelles, Enrollment Counselor, UAG; Mr. Arturo Barriga, director of Promotions and Recruitment. Can you speak Spanish? Do you want to contribute back to the community while having excellent education in medicine? The Bilingual and Bicultural Medical Program at UAG is a great way to accomplish this. The International Medicine Program at UAG is also great because it gives students opportunities to learn about medicine in beautiful  Guadalajara, Mexico. Along with these programs, there is the Medical Spanish Program, which educates bilingual Spanish speaking students to medicine while learning about the culture and language. This program has produced more than 14,000 bilingual/bicultural doctors that have helped many patients through excellent communication skills.

Summer Medical and Dental Education Program
